High Strength LCP Fiber Designed for Demanding Applications

What is Vectran Fiber?

Vectran® is a high-performance liquid crystal polymer (LCP) fiber originally developed by Kuraray. Unlike conventional synthetic fibers, Vectran® is produced from a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer structure, creating highly oriented molecular chains during processing.

This unique molecular structure gives Vectran® fiber a combination of: High tensile strength, High modulus performance, Low creep under continuous loading, Excellent fatigue resistance, Stable dimensional performance.

For engineers and manufacturers, these characteristics make Vectran® suitable for applications where maintaining strength and shape over long service periods is critical.

Why choose SHENGHE as your Vectran® filament supplier?

Application-Based Selection

Application-Based SelectionAt Shenghe, we usually start with your application rather than simply matching a yarn count from a catalog. Tell us how the yarn will be used, and we’ll help narrow down the options based on the actual performance and processing requirements.

Flexible Yarn Configuration

Different weaving, braiding and reinforcement processes require different yarn setups. We can discuss yarn count, twist level, package form and other processing details with you, so the yarn fits your production process more smoothly.

Experience with High-Performance Fibers

We work with aramid, carbon fiber, PBO and other technical fibers on a regular basis. This gives us a practical understanding of how different high-performance fibers behave in real industrial applications—not just what is written on a datasheet.

Samples & Technical Support

If you want to test the material first, we can provide samples and available technical data for evaluation. You can check the yarn in your own process before moving forward with production orders.

Can para-aramid sleeving be used on hydraulic hoses?

Yes. Hydraulic hose protection is one of its common applications. The sleeve helps protect the outside of the hose from rubbing, repeated contact and mechanical wear.
The sleeve does not increase the hose pressure rating.

Is para-aramid sleeving abrasion resistant?

Para-aramid is commonly used where abrasion and mechanical wear are concerns. Actual abrasion performance depends on yarn size, braid density and sleeve construction.

Is para-aramid sleeving heat resistant?

Para-aramid has better heat resistance than common polyester and nylon textile fibers.
The suitable working temperature of the finished sleeve depends on the yarn grade, construction, exposure time and type of heat source. For high-temperature applications, provide your actual operating conditions before ordering.

How do I choose the correct sleeve diameter?

Start with the outside diameter of the hose, cable or wire bundle.
If the sleeve needs to pass over a fitting or connector, also measure its largest diameter. SHENGHE can then check the required nominal size and expansion range.

Can you make custom diameters?

Yes. Diameter, braid density, yarn specification, weight and roll length can all be adjusted according to the project.

Can para-aramid sleeving be used for cable protection?

Yes. It can be used around cables and wire harnesses where mechanical wear, abrasion or heat exposure is a concern.
